Working towards saving our environment
March 7th, 2008For those of you who have been secluded in your house for the last 30 years, NEWS FLASH, our earth is going through some major changes.
Sure there are the people who wish to continue to live in denial when the proof is right in front of their face, but for people like me (and hopefully you), you are starting to be more proactive about what you can do to contribute to this earth crisis we are going through.
I’ve cared about our earth for at least 15 years now recycling before anyone even knew what that was.
Now we have composting in our city, but I stopped because of certain issues that cropped up during the summer & I moved, so I have to get another bucket.
I had heard about Al Gore’s Inconvenient Truth movie, but hadn’t gotten around to seeing it. I FINALLY saw it about 3 weeks ago, & I was amazed.
Amazed at how many things I didn’t know, things that were reiterated because I watch 60 Minutes every week, & more importantly, amazed at how much one man has taken on not just in the last few years, but ever since he learned about global warming in College.
That man has dedicated almost his whole entire adult life to the spreading the information around, & people just refuse to listen, care, & are STILL trying to debate the whole topic, as if seeing all the floods, sea levels, countries disappearing, ice in Alaska & the polar caps melting at such an alarming speed, droughts, fires, animals dying, the amount of snow we have received just this winter alone (2007/2008) isn’t enough proof.
I personally am not a science person, I could care less about all the statistics & so called proof everyone else needs.
I care about what I see, what my intuition tells me, what my spirit tells me.
I encourage you to watch the movie & tell us what you think.
If you have any tips on how to help our earth, please feel free to post them, I’ve begun to unplug some of my small appliances in my kitchen.
Thank you
Michelle
